Martin Van Treuren is starring in the play A Walk in the Woods by Lee Blessing at the Barrow Group Theater Company. Last year Martin and I worked together at the Barrow Group in Enemy of the people. If you have a chance go and see his performance in Blessings timely play. He is so compelling to watch. Set during the cold war, an American and a Russian diplomat with vastly different agendas hold several private sessions in the woods. The play examines such complex questions as how enemies bridge fundamental differences, how to secure lasting peace in the face of total annihilation, and the value of human connection.
