Great headshots are the calling card for every performer. It’s a joy to photograph many of the actors and models who live and work in NYC. However, every once in a while I get to step outside of that environment and photograph an author who needs a great headshot for their website and in this case a book jacket. Dr. Jess Shatkin is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist practicing in Manhattan and has written a book called Born To Be Wild: WHY TEENS TAKE RISKS, AND HOW WE CAN HELP KEEP THEM SAFE. Having a teenage girl myself we had lots to talk about during our session here at my home and in his beautiful office in midtown. He has a few cool guitars in his office (he actually played for me) and some great toys… look on his side table. The pic above makes me laugh as he is reading his own book…LOVE IT.
